Signifies innocence, as that of the beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Tae Kwon-Do.
Signifies earth from which a plant sprouts and takes root as Tae Kwon-Do foundations are being laid.

Signifies a plants growth as Tae Kwon-Do skills begin to develop.
Signifies Heaven to which a plant sprouts and matures into a towering tree as training in Tae Kwon-Do progresses.
Signifies Danger cautioning the student to exercise control, and warning the oppenent to stay away.
Opposite to white therefore signifying the maturity and proficiency in Tae Kwon-Do . Also indicates the wearers imperviousness to darkness and fear.
